Category D Quiz
The following questions are taken from the Skydiver Information Manual (2018). The basic goals of Category D are
- cumulative four 90-degree freefall turns (20 degree tolerance)
- cumulative two 180-degree freefall turns and two 360-degree turns (45 degree tolerance)
- cumulative two 90-degree rear riser turns with brakes set
- cumulative two 90-degree rear risers turns with brakes released
- one 180-degree rear riser turn, and one 360-degree rear riser turn with brakes released
- two rear riser flares above 2.000ft
- stand-up landing
- landing within 50 meters of target with minimal assistance
- operate the AAD
- recognize and observe the airport and the spot from the aircraft door during jump run
- read and memorize the cloud clearance requirements from FAR 105.17
- review SIM Section 2-1.F.9 (BSRs) on daylight requirements for student jumps
- study SIM Section 5-1.F to review building landing procedures
- study SIM Section 5-1.E on equipment malfunctions
- study SIM Section 5-3.G on AADs
- read the AAD owner's manual
